Season's Greetings 2021/2022
(Gallery Complete - there will be one final update on New Year's Day)

Here's wishing all of you a very Happy Christmas and New Year  from Tenby.  It's been another tough year for many people for many people, and I wish to give a special shout  to my friends whoc wor in the NHS: bless you all and thank you!  These difficlt times have certainly reminded me about what's important in life, which is to look after loved ones, be kind to strangers, and gratefully accept every little joy which life gives.

For understandable reasons many people talk about Plague Island, Plague Year no II, etc, but for me, and many others in Tenby, and all along the West European seabord, from Ireland to North Spain, 2021 was The Year Of The Walrus.  Yes - we were all enchanted and delighted byWally the walrus, who made Tenby his home for a couple of months of his world tour.  See the pictures below!

As for me personally, I've kept at least as well as can be expected, given that age inevitably brings problems as well as (hopefully) wisdom! I have a routine, see a smallish bubble of friends, and we try to keep each other sane.  I continue to walk to the beacj every day, striding up and down the infamous Tenby Borth Beach "Heart Attack" steps, which I must have ascended at least two thousand times since Covid began - I haven't missed a day since April last year!

You actuall meet a very high class and interesting bunch of people on/by the steps, both regular locals and one-off visitors: I've had nany fascinating conversations with people from all walks of life.  One gentleman in his 50s from the Valleys, Steve, was living in a Tent in the woods for several months - a sort of modern equivalent of the tramp-poet WH Davies.  In contrast, another regular for nearly a tear was a lady in her 70s, Celia, from Wiener Neustadt in Austria, but originally from South Africa.  She was originally trapped by Covid, but stayed rather longer for the sake of her health.  Most weeks there are local youngsters, like me using the steps to keep fit, and there are lote of dog walkers - the salt of the Earth mostly!

Often in the evenings I'm on the beach on my own and then I often sing! Although choir has restarted, I haven't gone back yet: like several other choristers I'm not entirely convinced it's safe yet.

Yes - I'm getting older, I have complaints. aches and pains, but I'm still here and I'm content with life :) .
